Sam Kensinger — Founder, Red Patch Roofing
I am Sam Kensinger, founder and owner of Red Patch Roofing. I served three combat tours in Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division before coming home to Berks County and building this company.
The 82nd Airborne wears a red "AA" patch on the left shoulder. It stands for a standard — precision under pressure, accountability without excuses, doing the job right whether or not anyone is checking. When I started a roofing company, I named it after that patch because I wanted the standard to come with it.
I did not start Red Patch because I was the best roofer in the region. I started it because I saw how most contractors treat homeowners — missed appointments, prices that change after the estimate, silence when a problem shows up later — and I knew the bar could be a lot higher. Everything we do is built around closing that gap: exact arrival times, written line-item estimates, drone documentation on every job, and a 15-year labor warranty we are structured to honor.
Why I Write
Most roofing content online is written to rank, not to inform. I write the articles on this site to give Berks County homeowners straight answers about their roofs — when a repair beats a replacement, what a fair price actually looks like, how to read an insurance scope, what the warranty fine print really means. If an article helps a homeowner make a better decision, even one that does not involve hiring us, it did its job.

Work With Red Patch
If you want a roofing contractor who operates by the standard behind that red patch, start with a free estimate. Drone inspection, written quote, exact arrival time.
